Feinerman Vision Center is currently recruiting volunteers to participate in a clinical research study for individuals over 40 years of age who are having cataract surgery. A clinical trial is being conducted to determine the effectiveness, safety, and tolerability of two different dosages of an investigational medication compared with placebo (an inactive substance). The study medication is injected in the eye at the end of cataract surgery to determine if it can reduce inflammation (a signal of the body to start the healing process characterized by redness, pain, swelling) associated with ocular surgery. To determine eligibility, interested individuals will be examined by Dr. Gregg Feinerman, M.D. as part of a screening visit prior to surgery. After the cataract surgery, there will be at least six follow-up visits that will take place over ninety days. Qualified participants will receive study medication at no cost and compensation for study visits.
